Sanscript transliterates Sanskrit text from one script to another. Here's how to use it:
- Select an Input script and an Output script.
- Place your text in the left box.
- Click the green arrow button.
The input script is auto-detected as you type — the badge next to "Input" shows what was detected. You can still override it manually.
Type ## to disable transliteration and ## to enable it again:
- bhagavad ##(divine one)## gItA → भगवद् (divine one) गीता
Disable transliteration for just one character with \:
- bhagavad . gItA\. → भगवद् । गीता.
- a \a \\ A \A → अ a \ आ A
In ITRANS, type {} or _ to break up a conjunct consonant:
- kShetra k{}Shetra → क्षेत्र क्षेत्र
- barau bara_u → बरौ बरउ
Click the double arrows ↔ to swap the input and output sides.
In the Transliteration Map tab, click any character card to copy it to your clipboard.
